Professional financial planning, with a real person for $50 per month?
too good to be true.
Changing the Industry
Prologue is a subscription based financial planning and coaching service. Why subscription based? Because it allows us to work with you where you are, so we can help you get to where you want to be. Most advisors have minimums, either for your net worth, or for assets of yours that they manage. This means they won't help you unless you are already wealthy. Some advisors without minimums rely on commissions, leading to transactional relationships that leave financial planning by the wayside.
We want to change the way financial advisors work with their clients, with a commitment to making financial planning more available and inclusive.
You're more than a number. It's high time financial advisors understood that.
Personal finance can be complicated. Your relationship with your financial advisor shouldn't be.
Are you ready to take control of your financial life? Do you want commitment, understanding, and accountability from your financial advisor? Consider Prologue. Prologue is there for you whenever you need it. You're invited to a one-on-one meeting each month, and can contact your Prologue advisor at any time. Life doesn’t only happen from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. A lot of big purchasing decisions are made on the weekend, and emergencies can crop up any time. Some people like to say that calling your Prologue advisor is like calling a trusted friend or relative, who just happens to know a lot about finance. We like the sound of that.
Here's a run down of the services Prologue provides:

Frequently Asked Questions (click to expand)
Do I need to have a certain level of wealth or income to work with Prologue?
As noted earlier, absolutely not. There is no ceiling or floor to wealth and income for Prologue clients. That said, we specialize in helping people early on in their wealth story, that's why we've designed Prologue to be affordable.
Is Prologue an investment account?
No. We can provide asset allocation advice in the course of our Prologue relationship and we can help you invest using the other services BMG Advisors provides, but Prologue itself is solely financial planning and coaching.
I have a lot of debt, can you help me?
We understand that debt weighs heavily on many people, and can be an impediment to achieving your goals. While we're not a debt counseling service, we can help you build a budget and a debt reduction plan without losing sight of your dreams, such as retirement and travel. We've helped clients tackle these exact issues and are ready to help you.
Is Prologue part of a larger organization?
Yes, Prologue is a service of BMG Advisors, a financial services firm in Kansas City, Missouri with clients nationwide.
What is BMG Advisors, are you a bank, an insurance agency?
BMG Advisors is a financial services firm. We focus strongly on financial planning, and prepare financial plans for our investment clients regularly. Prologue allows us to offer financial planning to folks that aren't ready to invest with us. That often includes participants in 401(k) plans whose assets cannot be transferred out, and entrepreneurs who are primarily invested in their business.
This seems too good to be true? Why are you really offering this service?
We understand that we can't just be about managing wealth, we need to help the next generation build it. Our existing experience and infrastructure allows us to keep the cost of Prologue down, with no catches or hidden charges. All of BMG's Advisors earn a salary, so you don't have to worry about us trying to earn a commission by steering you toward products or services you don't need.
Who will I work with?
You can access any advisor on our team. Prologue is led by Austin Kuehl. Austin has earned the Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional (ABFP™) designation, which focuses on managing the relationship between psychology and financial decision making.
Robert and Stacy
Robert is a computer scientist and Stacy is a university administrator. They are mid-career professionals with almost 100% of their invested wealth in workplace retirement plans. They felt they were doing a lot right, but with a young daughter, wanted to be sure her education and their retirement were on track. Through Prologue, Robert and Stacy were able to develop a game plan for funding their goals, work to optimize their tax situation, and begin to invest outside of work.
Tate is an HVAC installer who has just completed his training. He has a young family. In his teens and early twenties he got into significant credit card debt, and while his new career provided more income, he still felt he was not living within his means. We worked with Tate to review the entirety of his financial situation and develop a detailed budget and debt reduction plan. Tate decided to consolidate his debt with a lower-interest personal loan, and relied on us for support and accountability has he aggressively paid down the balance.
